South Africa: Garden Route

Swellendam > Wilderness > Plettenberg > Tsitsikama > Botlierskop

When travelling around South-Africa, the Garden Route is a must-do. We did a short five day version starting in Swellendam and finishing in Botlierskop. A great adventure filled with breathtaking views, beautiful nature and great outdoor activities

Lunch at Zucchini (tip: don’t get your coffee here, but at Pause, the coffee roastery opposite Zucchini)

Stay at Ebb & Flow Rest Camp, small huts in the middle of the National Park
To do: canoetrip up the rivers and short walk to the waterfall (max. 4 hours)
Dinner at Cocomo: pizza (try the one with pumpkin and feta!) and daily live music

Stay at African Array; easy hostel in the middle of nowhere, but the view from the bedroom makes it worth a visit

To do: Robberg hiking trail (we did the 2 hour Whitsand Dune trail)

To do: rent a surfboard and wetsuit and catch a wave (only 70 rand for 1 hour)

*Extra tips for dinner: Enrico Restaurant: fancy Italian restaurant on the coast (great view) or Golden Palm: easy spot for dinner serving yummy asian bowls

    Wat een prachtige foto’s! Ik heb je tips gebruikt tijdens mijn eigen Cape Town vakantie en heb er heel veel aan gehad, echt heerlijke plekjes en mooie hikes!!
